Job Description
Responsibilities
• Analyze and interpret project blueprints, drawings, and plans to understand construction requirements fully and ensure accuracy in each step.
• Fabricate metal components using various techniques
• Assemble steel buildings, frames, beams, columns, and girders safely and effectively
• Safely operate a variety of essential equipment, including scissor lifts, boom lifts, and telehandlers, to position and install structural steel.
• Hoist and align beams, columns, and other steel components into place using cranes and other lifting equipment, signaling operators to ensure precision in each placement.
• Common understanding of standing seam/screw down roofs, pre-engineered metal buildings andstructural steel
• Spread, screw and/or weld metal sheets of steel for floor or roof decking and on sides of buildings.
• Actively uphold safety standards, address hazards, ensure proper use of equipment, and contribute to a clean and secure worksite.
• Maintain a clean and organized job site, performing essential cleanup duties and dismantling structures or equipment as required.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on existing steel frames, utilizing problem-solving skills to address technical challenges on-site.
• Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and other tradespeople, maintaining open communication and providing support where needed.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with erecting pre-engineered steel buildings.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting detailed project plans and blueprints.
• Strong working knowledge of construction site safety protocols and risk management.
• Expertise with scissor lifts, boom lifts, telehandlers, and rigging techniques.
• Ability to hoist, align, and secure structural steel members with precision.
• A positive attitude with the ability to problem-solve and tackle challenges as they arise.
• A proactive approach to job site safety, identifying potential hazards, and maintaining a safe environment for all team members.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
• Dependability and a strong work ethic, reporting on time and ready to work on assigned shifts.
• A collaborative spirit, ready to contribute to a team that values integrity and dedication.
• OSHA 10-hour certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Familiarity with metal insulated panels for walls and roofs.
