Job Title: Millwright
Location: Ghent, Kentucky
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $28–$32 per hour (DOE)
Hours: 45–55 per week, with some Saturdays required
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Millwright to join our team in Ghent, KY. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery. This role also includes assisting pipefitters with tasks such as basic pipe installation, support fabrication, and equipment tie-ins. Candidates should have strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Install, maintain, and repair industrial machinery and mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and machining tools.
- Perform routine maintenance, including alignment, calibration, and inspections.
- Assist pipefitters with:
- Basic pipe installation and layout
- Installing pipe supports and hangers
- Equipment tie-ins
- Cutting, prepping, and measuring pipe
- Follow all safety regulations and company procedures, including OSHA requirements.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
- Work flexible hours, including overtime and some Saturdays/holidays as needed.
Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized Millwright apprenticeship program OR equivalent experience.
- Journeyman Millwright Certification preferred.
- Must have OSHA 10 or above.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and machining tools.
- Basic familiarity with pipefitting tasks is a plus.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and industrial machinery procedures.
- Physical ability to lift, bend, climb, and handle physically demanding tasks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to complete a Pre-Employment Drug Screening.
- Additional welding, machining, or industrial maintenance certifications are beneficial.
