Job Summary:
Reporting to the Facility Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for providing technical support, direction, safety training, audits, and quality control for Amentum facility and production maintenance employees. This role involves managing maintenance operations in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment as well as large office spaces, ensuring client satisfaction and compliance with cost, schedule, and contractual requirements. The Supervisor will plan, coordinate, and supervise routine maintenance activities, special projects, and distribute workloads to achieve productivity and quality objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety & Compliance:
  • Provide leadership to ensure a safe and accident-free workplace.
  • Ensure the safety of employees and tenants within the facilities.
  • Maintain knowledge of site safety requirements and ensure all work is performed following safety procedures.
  • Manage Site Compliance Calendar to ensure 100% compliance.
  • Collaborate with the EHS team and conduct Root Cause Analysis (5 Whys) as needed.
People & Communication:
  • Create an inclusive, high-performance work environment.
  • Maintain consistent communication with management on key issues, potential client issues, and resolutions.
  • Establish and maintain effective two-way communications with employees to understand their needs and concerns.
  • Handle personnel actions including employment, performance management, and scheduling.
  • Demonstrate leadership by example, showing integrity and urgency in addressing customer issues.
  • Assist in annual employee assessments and performance reviews.
Operational Excellence:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of a team of Facilities and Production Maintenance employees.
  • Train and develop subordinate staff, estimate personnel needs, and assign work to meet completion dates.
  • Interpret and consistently apply organizational policies.
  • Document specific needs for work such as materials, supplies, and instructions.
  • Work with or oversee subcontractor activities as directed by the supervisor or work schedule.
  • Ensure accurate employee time accounting in Maximo and Deltek systems.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Ten years of progressively responsible industrial facility or production maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work in an aerial or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security access badge at the client’s location.
  • Willingness to work various shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime when required.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to differentiate colors for wire color-coding.
  • Regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs multiple times during a shift.
  • Flexibility to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and stretch repetitively throughout the shift.
  • Ability to walk extensively throughout facilities during the workday.
  • Repetitive wrist movement for certain tasks.
  • Ability to read and understand documents and operate a computer for data entry and communication.
  • Ability to interact professionally with clients even during stressful periods.
  • Attend meetings throughout the site and travel to other locations as needed.
Special Requirements:
  • Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, and hard hats.
  • Ability to cope with job demands and work environment stressors while maintaining acceptable performance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in industrial mechanical, industrial electrical, or a related skilled trade.
