Industrial Maintenance Mechanic – Peoria, IL
Hourly Rate: $26 - $28 per hour, DOE
Job Type: Full-Time
Job Purpose:
As a Millwright Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, performing repairs, and conducting preventive maintenance on building facilities and related equipment. This role ensures optimal performance and functionality of machinery through regular maintenance and addressing emergency repair needs.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Emergency Repairs: Conduct unscheduled and emergency repairs on building machinery and equipment as needed.
  • Scheduled Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance tasks on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues; replace faulty parts, conduct tests, and make necessary adjustments.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Carry out regular preventative maintenance routines to ensure the proper functioning of machinery and building facilities.
  • Safety & Compliance: Detect faulty operations and defective materials, reporting any unusual situations to supervisors. Ensure compliance with company safety standards and regulations.
  • Documentation: Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders for accurate maintenance and service performance.
  • Team Support: Assist with other maintenance tasks as needed within multi-craft fields.
Qualifications:
Education/Training:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Preferred: Two-year technical degree, accredited apprenticeship program, or equivalent technical training in a related field.
Experience:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Proven expertise in diagnosing and repairing a variety of industrial equipment, with proficiency in using specialized diagnostic tools and instruments.
Required Skills:
  • Proficient in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and electronic components with the ability to use diagnostic instruments.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety and compliance.
