Position: Ironworker Supervisor / Lead Ironworker
Location: Lubbock, TX (Texas Area)
Pay: $28–$35 per hour (DOE)
Per Diem: $115 per day (must meet requirements)
Hours: 55-60 hours per week, with some Saturdays
Employment Type: Full-Time
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Ironworker Supervisor / Lead Ironworker with strong red iron (structural steel) experience to oversee ironworking crews on a long-term, large-scale commercial construction project in the Lubbock, TX (Texas Area). This leadership role is responsible for managing daily field operations, ensuring productivity, enforcing safety standards, and coordinating with project management to keep the project on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead ironworker crews on a long-term commercial project
- Oversee red iron / structural steel erection, metal building installation, and rigging operations
- Coordinate daily work activities, crew assignments, and workflow
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and project schedules
- Communicate with project managers, superintendents, and other trades
- Enforce OSHA and site-specific safety policies and conduct safety meetings
- Monitor productivity, quality control, and job progress
- Perform hands-on ironwork as needed
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Ironworker with red iron / structural steel erection experience required
- Prior lead or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of rigging and metal building erection
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents
- Demonstrated leadership and crew management skills
- OSHA 10 required (OSHA 30 preferred)
- Reliable transportation
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening
