Position: Ironworker
Location: Knoxville, Tennessee
Pay: $32–$36 per hour (DOE)
Hours: 45–55 hours per week, with some Saturdays
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Ironworker to join our team in Knoxville, TN. The Ironworker will be responsible for erecting structural steel, installing precast concrete panels, assembling metal buildings, and performing a variety of other metalworking tasks. This role requires proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, operating cranes and hoisting equipment, and following strict safety standards. The ideal candidate will be physically strong, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a construction team to complete projects on schedule and within budget.
Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of ironworking tasks, including erecting structural steel, installing precast concrete panels, and assembling metal buildings
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout and installation procedures
- Use hand and power tools to cut, shape, and fabricate metal components
- Operate machinery such as cranes and hoists to position and lift steel components
- Install rigging systems and hoisting equipment to ensure safe and efficient lifting operations
- Follow all safety protocols and OSHA standards to maintain a safe work environment
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on schedule and within budget
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Ironworker
- Proficiency in structural steel erection, metal building assembly, and rigging operations
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Strong knowledge of steel construction methods and materials
- Physical stamina to perform demanding work in various weather conditions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening
- OSHA 10 or higher certification required
