Handyman – Maintenance Technician (Part-Time)
? Location: Madison–Janesville, WI area
? Pay Rate: $28–$30 per hour (DOE)
? Hours: 25 hours per week | Potential for full-time in the future
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Field Service / Handyman Maintenance Technician to support commercial and residential clients throughout the Madison–Janesville area.
This is a long-term position offering steady hours, competitive pay, and a wide variety of maintenance and repair tasks.
Job Details
- Pay: $28–$30 per hour (DOE)
- 25 hours per week with potential for full-time

Responsibilities
Plumbing
- Diagnose and repair leaks under sinks and in restrooms
- Replace toilet flush valves
- Install new supply lines in small office and retail settings
Electrical
- Replace damaged outlets and switches
- Upgrade lighting to LED fixtures
- Ensure repairs meet NEC safety standards
Doors & Hardware
- Repair commercial metal doors, panic bars, and hydraulic door closers
- Maintain accessibility and fire-safety compliance
Lighting
- Maintain and troubleshoot interior/exterior lighting systems
- Replace bulbs and ballasts
- Diagnose non-operational circuits
General Maintenance
- Preventive maintenance: HVAC filters, ceiling tiles, small carpentry, drywall patching
- Minor welding and masonry repairs as needed
Requirements
- Strong electrical maintenance experience (required)
- Industrial maintenance background preferred
- Experience in plumbing, welding, masonry, and carpentry is a plus
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Reliable, safety-focused, and team-oriented
- Must have reliable commercial-grade transportation (pickup truck or transit van)
- Must pass a background check
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
