Job Title: Advanced Rigger

Location: Rapid City, SD

Pay: $28–$30 per hour (DOE)

Hours: 50–60 per week

Position Overview:

The Advanced Rigger is responsible for preparing, installing, and operating rigging gear and equipment such as slings, chokers, chains, hoists, and come-alongs.

This includes preparing components for lifting by crane, forklift, or similar equipment. Travel is required for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and understand work instructions and prints.
• Inspect work sites for obstructions, ground conditions, and safety hazards.
• Inspect rigging gear and equipment before use.
• Interpret lift plans and prepare components for lifts, ensuring proper installation and safety.
• Identify safety hazards and take corrective actions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Travel as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Minimum 3 years of construction experience.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of load capacity charts and lifting criteria.
• Ability to calculate lift weights and center of gravity.
• Understanding of crane hand signals and ability to communicate them.
• Knowledge of measuring plumbness, levelness, and alignment before operations.
• General knowledge of basic hand tools.
• Familiarity with safety monitoring equipment; completion of C-Stop Plus Safety training, Process Safety Management training, and site-specific training.
• Must have OSHA 10 or higher certification.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.



Qualifications:

• NCCER Advanced Rigger Certification.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to travel and work frequent overtime.
• Work at elevated heights (ladders, scaffolds, aerial platforms).
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
• Work in hot/cold temperatures and confined spaces.
• Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, stooping; occasional climbing.
• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods (minimum 8 hours/day)
